Jake Arrieta Wild In Spring Start
5 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Jake Arrieta pitched four scoreless innings in a Spring Training start against the Tigers Friday. Arrieta didn't allow a hit, but walked four and threw a wild pitch. The veteran righty didn't strike out a batter, which is a continuing trend for Arrieta. His strikeout rate has dropped five straight seasons, bottoming out at 18.5 percent last year. He hasn't averaged more than a strikeout per inning since 2015 and he won't provide much ratio help either as his FIP and SIERA last season were over 4.80. Arrieta's fantasy value is limited to the deepest of leagues or NL-Only.
