Jake Arrieta Will Throw Bullpen Session On Wednesday
4 years agoChicago Cubs starting pitcher Jake Arrieta (thumb) had his bullpen session on Tuesday pushed back a day to Wednesday. Manager David Ross said that if everything goes well, Arrieta will be activated from the 10-day injured list and start on Friday versus the Detroit Tigers. Arrieta has been sidelined since May 4 with a right thumb abrasion. The veteran has performed well in his second stint with the Cubs. He currently is 3-3 in six starts with a 4.31 ERA and 28 strikeouts with 12 walks in 30 1/3 innings. Arrieta's best value is as a backend starter in deeper leagues or as a streamer.
