Jake Cronenworth Draws First Career Start At Second Saturday
4 years agoSan Diego Padres infielder Jake Cronenworth made each of his first seven Major League starts at first base; on Saturday, he will shift over to second base for the first time. Cronenworth played primarily shortstop and second base during his time in the Minors, giving him immense positional flexibility, making it easier to get his bat into the lineup. He has collected a hit in seven of his first eight big leagues contests, having put up a gaudy .840 SLG that makes it difficult to keep his on the bench. Those in deep leagues should already be considering the rookie, but if he takes over everyday playing time, medium-sized leagues may need to begin to take notice as well.
