Jake Cronenworth Sitting Against A Lefty
2 years agoSan Diego Padres second baseman Jake Cronenworth is not in the starting lineup on Thursday against Colorado Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland. Cronenworth has been on a recent tear at the plate and is now slashing .244/.348/.402 with 11 home runs, 55 RBI, 68 runs scored and one stolen base in 393 at-bats after homering in the 9-1 win over the Rockies on Wednesday night. New acquisition Brandon Drury, who clubbed a grand slam in the first pitch he saw in a Padres uniform on Wednesday, is starting at second base and is batting fifth against Freeland. Drury is having a career year with a .275 average and 21 home runs in 93 games in 2022, and he's been great against southpaws, going 30-for-97 (.309) with nine of his 21 home runs against them.
