Jake Ferguson Expected To Play A Lot
2 years agoThe Athletic's Bob Sturm writes that Dallas Cowboys rookie fourth-round tight end Jake Ferguson is expected to play more than people think in 2022. Blake Jarwin played 37 snaps a game the first seven games of the 2021 season and Dalton Schultz played 56. Sturm thinks the Cowboys will around 36 12-personnel (two tight ends) snaps per game early in the year. Instead of rookie Jalen Tolbert or another receiver stepping up as the third option behind CeeDee Lamb and Schultz with Michael Gallup (knee) injured to open the year, it could be Ferguson. The Cowboys were much more explosive with two tight ends on the field early last year. The 23-year-old is more attractive in dynasty/keeper formats, but he could be a popular waiver-wire pickup if Schultz misses any time this year due to injury.
