3 years agoPittsburgh Pirates outfielder Jake Marisnick (thumb) will need surgery after sustaining a UCL injury in his left thumb, according to trainer Todd Tomczyk. There is no timeline for Marisnick's return, but it's likely to be a repair and not a reconstruction of the UCL, which means he should be able to return in weeks instead of months. The Pirates put the 31-year-old on the injured list on Tuesday after he suffered the injury on Monday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Marisnick wasn't much of a fantasy option to begin with in Pittsburgh, as he was hitting just .163 with no home runs, one RBI, five runs scored and one stolen base in 22 games.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
