6 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Jake Marisnick has been demoted to Triple-A for the second time this season heading into Saturday's game against the White Sox. The move was made to make room for the Astros top prospect outfielder Kyle Tucker. It has been a miserable season thus far for Marisnick but was actually in the midst of his best stretch at the plate. Over his last 26 at-bats, Marisnick was slashing .269/.387/.538 with a pair of home runs and four runs batted in. But in the end, the 27-year-old strikes out way too much (69 times in 153 at-bats) and speedy Tony Kemp had passed him on the outfield depth chart. The Astros are clearly looking for a boost of production from their group of outfielders and calling up their best prospect leaves Marisnick as the odd man out.--Joey C - RotoBaller
