Jake Meyers Not On World Series Roster
3 years agoHouston Astros outfielder Jake Meyers (shoulder) was left off the World Series roster, according to Brian McTaggart of MLB.com. Meyers injured his shoulder during a play in the Division Series against the Chicago White Sox. He was included on the championship series roster, as the team thought he would recover in time before the series ended. However, he suffered a setback and was only capable of pinch-hitting and running. Meyers slashed a respectable .260/.323/.438 with six home runs and three stolen bases over 49 games this season. He's been a hitting machine in the playoffs, batting .375, though, with no extra-base hits. While Meyers is out, expect Chas McCormick to get the majority of playing time in the outfield.
