3 years agoHouston Astros center fielder Jake Meyers went 2-for-5 with one run scored in the team's 6-5 win over the Royals on Wednesday afternoon. The Astros welcomed back outfielder Kyle Tucker back into the fold, but Meyers still found his way into the lineup for this matchup. The young phenom has been impressive since being called up on Aug. 1, slashing .316/.344/.526 with three doubles, three home runs, nine runs scored and 12 runs batted in through 57 at-bats. The Astros outfield is suddenly crowded, and despite Meyers' strong start to his career, the 25-year-old rookie may lose at-bats in the coming days to Tucker, veteran Michael Brantley and the currently hot-hitting Aledmys Diaz.--Joey C - RotoBaller
