Jake Odorizzi Ramping Up
2 years agoHouston Astros starting pitcher Jake Odorizzi (leg) threw a 57-pitch, three-inning bullpen session on June 4 and didn't have any complications. Manager Dusty Baker said there's no timetable for Odorizzi to start a minor league rehab assignment, however. The 32-year-old has now thrown two bullpen sessions, but the Astros are taking it slow with him. Given his slow progression, Odorizzi might not be able to return to Houston's starting rotation until later this month. Before going on the shelf, he had been solid in seven starts this year, posting a 3.13 ERA and 1.17 WHIP with 21 strikeouts and 12 walks in 312/3 innings pitched for the 'Stros.
