3 years agoKansas City Royals pitcher Jakob Junis has been optioned to Triple-A to free up a roster spot for Jackson Kowar. This shouldn't surprise anyone with Junis posting a 5.19 ERA, 1.44 WHIP and 35/11 K/BB ratio across 34 2/3 innings. He was already pulled out of the rotation, so Junis was the odd man out here. Kowar is scheduled to pitch against the Los Angeles Angels on Monday. This is unlikely to be a spot start, so fantasy managers shouldn't expect Junis back anytime soon. Junis can be ignored in all fantasy formats going forward, while Kowar is an intriguing streaming choice and worth a look in mixed leagues.--Andy Webb - RotoBaller
