6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams started last week against the Atlanta Falcons. Despite the start, he only saw four carries on the day. Most of the work was handled by running back Aaron Jones. Jones likely saw more carries because he has proven to be a much superior option at running back. However, there hasn’t been much insight into what interim head coach Joe Philbin was thinking. It possibly could have been the case that he views Williams more positively and wanted to preserve his legs after Green Bay jumped out to an early lead. Heading into a Week 15 matchup against the Chicago Bears it is unclear what type of role Williams will have. Regardless of role, Williams should be left on the bench. He has not been an effective or productive runner or receiver this year and has a very tough matchup. Williams only has fantasy value when he sees more than 20 touches a game, something that will not happen as long as quarterback Aaron Rodgers is under center. Williams has not been the caliber of player this year that warrants use in the fantasy playoffs and he should not be used in any format.--Tyger McGuiggan
