6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams had a slightly deflating performance in Week 1 against the Chicago Bears. He ran for 47 yards on 15 carries. He had no receptions on two targets. Williams has never been the most efficient runner, but there was still optimism that volume and goal line carries might result in solid fantasy production. The reality is that Green Bay’s offensive line was overmatched by Chicago’s excellent front seven. The game got out of hand quickly, which flipped the game script away from Williams. Williams had an excellent game in pass protection and did enough to justify his starting job for the time being. However, fantasy owners should be watching the return of running back Aaron Jones from suspension in Week 3. Williams should be viewed as an RB2 if he continues to get most of the snaps in Green Bay.--Tyger McGuiggan
