6 years agoGreen Bay Packers running back Jamaal Williams may have lost his starting job in Week 6, but he was out-snapped by fellow running back Aaron Jones for the first time last week against the Los Angeles Rams. Williams held some promise after finishing 2017 strong, but his inefficient performance this year has relegated him to a peripheral role at this point. He was only on the field for 13 snaps last week. Even with the departure of converted running back Ty Montgomery, Jones should see the bulk of the touches against the reasonably capable run defense of the New England Patriots in Week 9. Williams is not the type of player who can maintain fantasy relevance without a large workload. There is no reason to start him and he should only be rostered in very deep leagues. He may score a touchdown here and there, but his only pathway back to relevance would be an injury to Jones. Williams can safely be left on the waiver wire in Week 9.--Tyger McGuiggan
