Jameis Winston Aims To Be NFL Starter Once Again
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints quarterback Jameis Winston will now compete for the starting job on the team after longtime starter Drew Brees called it a career this past offseason. Winston joined New Orleans last year as a backup and only managed 75 passing yards in four games played. The former first overall pick played five seasons with Tampa prior to 2020 and his most recent campaign in 2019 saw him notoriously get 33 passing touchdowns and 30 interceptions. Nevertheless, the QB did also post a career-high 5,109 passing yards that season and he can be a solid starter in 2021 if he develops consistency and cuts down on the turnovers. If Winston does end up being the starter, he would be in the QB2 tier.
