Jameis Winston Resumes Running
3 years agoNew Orleans Saints impending free-agent quarterback Jameis Winston (knee) ran on an anti-gravity treadmill on Monday for the first time since undergoing surgery on the left ACL that he tore on Oct. 31 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. It's notable progress for the 28-year-old signal-caller, who could be one of the most coveted free-agent QBs on the market this offseason. Winston may not be cleared for spring workouts, but barring any setbacks, he should be on track to be ready by training camp and the 2022 regular season. If the Saints don't attempt to re-sign him, Winston could be an option to return to Tampa after Tom Brady retired. In seven starts for New Orleans in 2021, Winston went 95-for-161 (59% completion rate) for 1,170 yards, 14 touchdowns and three interceptions.
