3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher James Kaprielian pitched six shutout innings with seven strikeouts in a win over the Royals on Saturday. Kaprielian did issue four walks, but he only allowed two hits and was in control all afternoon as he threw first-pitch-strikes to 16 of 24 batters and induced 12 swinging strikes on 95 pitches. The 27-year-old rookie has looked good in his first extended look in the Majors. Through six starts, the lefty is 3-1 with a 2.51 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 35 strikeouts across 32 1/3 innings. He's a start-worthy pitcher in fantasy when he has a good matchup. That won't be the case in his next start, however, as he'll toe-the-rubber at Yankee Stadium against his former club.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
