James Kaprielian Providing Spark In A's Rotation
3 years agoOakland Athletics pitcher James Kaprielian posted another quality start on Tuesday as he continues to be just what the A's - and fantasy managers - need from their starting pitchers. Kaprielian has pitched at least five innings and allowed three runs or less in eight of his nine starts this season, good for a 3.06 ERA. It hasn't just been run-prevention where Kaprielian has thrived. The 27-year-old has 52 strikeouts in 50 innings while limiting baserunners as he's got a strong 1.10 WHIP. Best of all, Kaprielian is earning this success as he's got a CSW (called-plus-swinging strikes) rate over 30 percent and he's earning swinging strikes at a healthy 11.2 percent rate. He should be started in all fantasy leagues in a home matchup with the Red Sox.
