James Karinchak Posts Fifth Straight Scoreless Outing
3 years agoCleveland Indians relief pitcher James Karinchak allowed two walks while striking out three in 1 2/3 scoreless innings of relief against the Astros on Saturday. It was his fifth straight scoreless outing, as he has allowed one hit and six walks while striking out seven over 5 2/3 innings of work. His 14.2 percent walk rate is very high obviously, however it is down slightly from his 14.7 percent walk rate last season, and despite the bloated walk rate he's still managed to record a 2.48 ERA and 1.02 WHIP over 36 1/3 innings of work this season. If he can ever cut down on the walks, he could become a top-10 fantasy reliever.
