James McCann Belts Another Homer On Thursday
3 years agoNew York Mets catcher James McCann remained red hot on Thursday going 1-for-4 with a two-run home run against the San Diego Padres. It was the second home run in as many games for the backstop. McCann is now slashing .400/.423/.880 over his last seven games (25 at-bats), with three HR, nine RBI, and five runs scored. Because of a sluggish start to the season, McCann has lost some playing time to Tomas Nido. Notwithstanding, this additional rest could be a contributing factor to his recent hot streak. McCann remains relevant in two-catcher and NL-only formats. He is also useful as a stop-gap in one-catcher leagues as a streaming option while his bat remains on fire.
