2 years agoNew York Mets catcher James McCann is getting the day off on Friday against the division-rival Philadelphia Phillies. It's just a regular day off for the 32-year-old backstop, who has played in just 39 games for the Mets this year due to injuries. He's gone 20-for-111 (.180) with two home runs, 13 RBI, 10 runs scored and two stolen bases. Michael Perez is behind the dish on Friday and is batting ninth against Phillies right-hander Aaron Nola. This will be Perez's fourth game with the Mets, and he's still searching for his first hit. In 39 games for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2022, he hit just .150/.209/.318 with six home runs, 11 RBI, eight runs scored and one stolen base.
