James McCann Scratched With Back Tightness
3 years agoNew York Mets catcher James McCann (back) was scratched from the spring training game on Tuesday when his back tightened up. McCann missed time last year with back issues, but manager Buck Showalter said he would have played if it was a regular season game. It doesn't sound like the Mets believe the 31-year-old's injury is that serious, but we'll keep an eye on McCann through the rest of the week. In his first year in New York in 2021, McCann hit .232/.294/.349 with 10 home runs, 46 RBI and 29 runs in 412 plate appearances over 121 games. He was an All-Star in 2019 with the Chicago White Sox, but McCann is currently ranked as RotoBaller's No. 23 fantasy backstop entering the 2022 season.
