James Paxton Could Return Towards End Of The Postseason
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher James Paxton (forearm) played catch on Tuesday and could pitch for the team towards the end of the postseason, according to manager Aaron Boone. Paxton has been sidelined since August 20 with a strained forearm flexor, and the 31-year-old had struggled with diminished velocity and a 6.64 ERA through five starts before landing on the injured list. It’s not clear if Paxton will have enough time to build his workload up for a full-length start this postseason and fantasy managers should avoid relying on the southpaw given his struggles, but Paxton’s velocity should be closely monitored if he’s able to make a postseason appearance.
