6 years agoSeattle Mariners starter James Paxton will face the Rockies Saturday afternoon at Safeco Field. Paxton has put together two really strong starts in a row and has at least nine strikeouts in each of his last three starts. Overall he has punched out 30 hitters over his last 20 innings pitched and now has 145 K's through 111 2/3 innings pitched this season. Paxton has, however, struggled at times when pitching during day games this season. In seven daytime starts, Paxton is only 2-2 with a 4.32 ERA and seven home runs allowed in only 41 2/3 innings. Nonetheless, Paxton is the Mariners unquestioned ace and needs to be active in all formats for Saturday.--Joey C - RotoBaller
