James Paxton Throws Simulated Game On Wednesday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox pitcher James Paxton (elbow) threw two innings during a simulated game Wednesday. It was the first time the southpaw faced live hitters this year. He is expected to return in mid-August and will continue to build his arm up in upcoming rehab appearances. The 33-year-old underwent Tommy John surgery in April and has been limited to just 21 2/3 innings over the last two years. The 33-year-old had his best season in 2019, posting a 15-6 record with a 3.82 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, and 186 strikeouts over 150 2/3 innings for the Yankees in 2019. Fantasy managers in deep-league formats with an open spot on the injured list can stash Paxton.
