James Washington Heading To Hometown Cowboys
3 years agoFormer Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver James Washington signed an undisclosed one-year deal with the Dallas Cowboys on Friday, according to his agents, Drew Rosenhaus and Ryan Matha. Washington will head to his home state of Texas. Washington was a second-round selection by Pittsburgh in 2018 out of Oklahoma State, but he never materialized as a consistent receiving weapon for them in his four seasons. The 25-year-old had his best year in 2019, catching 44 of 80 targets for 735 yards and three touchdowns. Washington had just 24 catches for 285 yards and two TDs in 15 games (two starts) last year. Even though Dallas traded Amari Cooper away, Washington projects to be behind both CeeDee Lamb and Michael Gallup in 2022.
