James Wood A Name To File Away In Dynasty Leagues
2 years agoSan Diego Padres outfield prospect James Wood went 1-for-3 with a walk and two-run homer for Single-A Lake Elsinore on Wednesday. With the exception of five games in rookie ball this season, Wood has spent the season Single-A and has impressed with a .320 batting average to go along with nine homers, 39 RBI and 14 stolen bases. The 19-year-old was the Padres second pick in the 2021 draft and has done nothing but impress in his young career. At 6'7, Wood possesses a big frame and his body should only continue to mature, which should only improve his power in the long term. Wood also provides a good eye at the plate and plays good defense for someone of his size. The youngster is unlikely to make an impact in the immediate future for fantasy managers, but he is a name to file away in dynasty leagues.
