Jameson Taillon Allows Just One Run in No-Decision
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon tossed five innings of one-run baseball in a no-decision against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday. The right-hander wasn't at his best, striking out only one batter and allowing at least one baserunner in all but his final frame of work. In total, he gave up six hits and two walks before he was removed at 85 pitches. Taillon has allowed four runs over his last 11 innings, a nice bounce back from a pair of disastrous outings before that. Still, his lack of strikeouts raises some red flags. After fanning 16 hitters in his first two starts of the year, he has only 14 strikeouts over his last five. Taillon will hope to reverse that trend in his next outing against the San Francisco Giants. The Pirates may shuffle their rotation around with two off-days this week, however, so it's not clear which game Taillon will start yet.
