Jameson Taillon Bounces Back But Takes Loss on Monday
7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon turned in a quality start against the Washington Nationals on Monday but still took his third straight loss. The right-hander went six innings, allowing three runs on seven hits and two walks while striking out five, including a pair of punchouts against Bryce Harper. Despite the outcome, the start was still a step in the right direction for Taillon. Over his previous two outings, he lasted a combined 5 2/3 innings and allowed 12 runs, 14 hits, and three home runs to raise his ERA from 0.89 to 4.91. He'll look to get back in the win column in his next start against the Milwaukee Brewers on Saturday.
