Jameson Taillon Eager For First Opening Day Start
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon will make his first career Opening Day start on Thursday on the road against the Cincinnati Reds. Taillon finished last season on a high note, reaching 14 wins in 32 starts. Over his final 22 starts, he never allowed more than three earned runs in an outing, compiling a 2.71 ERA over that stretch. After developing his slider this offseason, he will look to put together an entire season with that same conviction. It's worth noting that at Great American Ballpark last season, Taillon went 1-2 with a 5.19 ERA with 21 K and a .296 BAA. However, he will be a solid DFS option on Tuesday if you want to be contrarian from the likes of Jacob deGrom or Max Scherzer.
