Jameson Taillon Pitches Well In Yankees Debut
4 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon looked good in his first start of the season on Wednesday, striking out seven over 4 2/3 innings of two-run ball. Notably, Taillon ditched his sinker (19.8% usage rate in 2019) entirely on Wednesday, an adjustment that should help him maintain an elevated strikeout rate. Additionally, although Taillon's fastball velocity was down on average compared to 2019, the pitch generated more rise than usual on Wednesday, which is an encouraging sign. Fantasy managers should be excited by Taillon's start on Wednesday, and he's worth a look on waivers in shallow leagues (66% rostered rate) as a result.
