7 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon was bashed for a second consecutive outing on Wednesday, lasting just 3 2/3 innings and surrendering seven runs on 10 hits in a loss to the Detroit Tigers. The start began in the worst possible way when Leonys Martin hit a leadoff home run off of Taillon. The day didn't get much better from there for the right-hander, who gave up a second run in the opening frame and another in the third. The Pirates still managed to give him a 6-3 advantage heading into the fourth, but Taillon couldn't hang on to the lead. He was lit up for four more runs, including an additional homer, as he was chased from the game. Taillon's ERA has now risen from 0.89 to 4.91 over his last two starts, erasing what was a sizzling start. He'll look to rebound against the Washington Nationals on Monday.--Matt Wilkes
