6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates starting pitcher Jameson Taillon gave up just three runs on five hits in 6 1/3 innings against the St. Louis Cardinals on Sunday, but he had to settle for a no-decision. After allowing a run in the first inning, the right-hander settled down, holding the Cardinals scoreless until the seventh inning. Taillon struck out six and walked only one batter on the day, but his quality start was spoiled in the eighth inning when Michael Feliz and Felipe Vazquez combined to allow three runs to give the Cardinals a 6-4 lead. He'll hope to get his first win in over a month when he takes the mound against the Cardinals again on Friday.--Matt Wilkes
