3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Jameson Taillon didn't have his best stuff in Thursday's no-decision against the Athletics. Taillon lasted just 3 2/3 innings, surrendering five earned runs on four hits and three walks. He struck out four batters but managed to generate a solid 11 whiffs. Taillon's fastball, normally his strongest pitch, was hit hard by the Athletics for two homers and an average exit velocity of 100.9 MPH, as the right-hander nearly coughed up the six-run lead provided to him by the Yankee offense. This was a step back for Taillon, as he had allowed three runs or less in each of his last nine outings since the start of July. He'll get a bit of a tough matchup his next time out against the Angels, though fantasy managers shouldn't be afraid to go back to Taillon.--Tim Capurso
