3 years agoDallas Stars defenseman Jani Hakanpaa will be unavailable for Friday's home game against Ottawa because he has been put into the NHL's COVID-19 protocol. Joel Hanley will come into the lineup to skate on the third pairing with Andrej Sekera. The veteran blueliner will make his fifth appearance of the season. Hakanpaa had just picked up his first point of the season before landing on the COVID-19 list. He's also recorded 21 hits and 11 blocks with 21 penalty minutes in seven outings. Stars captain Jamie Benn missed Thursday's practice but was only out due to maintenance and will play on Friday.
