4 years agoNew Orleans Saints tight end Jared Cook probably needs to find the end zone against Tampa Bay to justify starting him in Week 1. Cook did that a career-high nine times last season- including two against Tampa's defense- though he was not utilized as much in the red zone as one would think. Backup tight end Josh Hill actually recorded the same amount of red zone targets, 10, as Cook did. To be fair, Cook did miss some time to injury, but it shows that he was extremely efficient in his opportunities last year and that he pulled off several big plays. The Bucs defense allowed the ninth-most pass plays of 20 yards or more in 2019, so it is a pretty favorable matchup. Cook can be started, but just beware that his floor is lower than other low-end TE1s/high-end TE2s.--Tim Capurso
