4 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff made a concerted effort to throw the ball deep during Friday's practice. Early reports out of camp were riddled with observations of Goff's extremely conservative play during team drills and, even Goff himself, told reporters, "Checkdowns are my friend". But Goff came out of the gate slinging it on Friday, consistently taking shots down the field with a newfound aggressiveness. This led to several mistakes and some sideline conversations with head coach Dan Campbell but the Lions want Goff to be comfortable and confident enough to take chances.
