Jared Goff Trending Towards Starting On Thursday

2 years agoDetroit Lions quarterback Jared Goff (oblique) got in a limited practice on Wednesday and is listed as questionable for Thursday's game, with Lions beat writers suggesting that he is trending towards starting. Goff would still not be a recommended play against the Bears, but his presence on the field would cause us to move the Bears defense/special teams slightly down in the rankings. With Goff under center, head coach Dan Campbell has called more of a ball-control offense, which has led to fewer turnovers. Another thing to keep in mind is that with Goff under center, the Lions targeted tight end T.J. Hockenson only once coming out of their Week 9 bye. It might be just a one-game blip, but more focus on the run could lead to fewer targets for Hockenson, which would lower his fantasy floor a bit.--Eric Samulski - RotoBaller
