Jaret Patterson Impressive in Preseason Debut
3 years agoWashington Football Team running back Jaret Patterson was impressive in his first taste of NFL preseason action after totaling 70 scrimmage yards on 14 touches. Patterson had 10 carries for 40 yards and added four receptions for 30 yards, which led the team in every category. This was a good first impression for the undrafted free agent's push for the No. 3 spot on the depth chart as he has an uphill battle to claim this role. Patterson's main competition is Peyton Barber, who had six carries for 20 yards and one touchdown on the ground while adding one reception for three yards. Both players showed that they are capable of being a viable option in the backfield, so as the preseason progresses the two will need to continue making a strong impression. Barber could be playing his way back into the role he held last year, as he once again was able to show his nose for the end zone and his power rushing style.
