3 years agoVancouver Canucks goaltender Jaroslav Halak will spell Thatcher Demko on Thursday night in net. Halak will start against the Los Angeles Kings as Vancouver tries to extend their winning streak to eight games. The concern for the Canucks is that Halak has not played particularly well winning just once in six decisions (1-4-1). Even in that win, the goaltender gave up three goals on 23 shots against the Columbus Blue Jackets on December 14th. Since November 14th, Halak has just three starts. Thatcher Demko leads the NHL in minutes played, shots faced, and saves. The backup needs to prove he can give Demko a break now and then.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
