4 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic was officially called up from Triple-A Tacoma on Thursday, as expected. Kelenic, the number-four overall prospect per MLB Pipeline, hit .291 with 23 homers and 20 stolen bases in 500 plate appearances in 2019. The 21-year-old got off to a fast start at Triple-A in 2021, recording 10 hits in his first six games, including a pair of homers and stolen bases. Kelenic possesses immediate upside, particularly for a Mariners' outfield that has posted -0.4 WAR this season. He needs to be scooped up off waivers wherever he's available, as he could make an impact with his bat rather quickly.--Tim Capurso
