3 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic was optioned back to Triple-A Tacoma on Monday, according to Corey Brock of The Athletic. Kelenic had been hitless in his last 39 at-bats, and is 8-for-83 with a 28 percent strikeout rate over 23 games. It sounds like the move was made to allow Kelenic to play under less pressure and find his swing again, as he has shown great potential in the minors where he has slashed .293/.368/.520 with 31 home runs and 37 steals over three seasons. Managers in redraft leagues might want to consider hanging onto Kelenic for now, as he will almost certainly be back in Seattle sooner than later. However, if you're facing a roster crunch, then Kelenic is probably the safest option to let go for now until he gets called back up.--Michael Grennell - RotoBaller
