Jarred Kelenic Takes Batting Practice
4 years agoSeattle Mariners outfielder Jarred Kelenic (knee) continued his rapid recovery from a Grade 2 adductor strain on Sunday. Kelenic took on-field batting practice for the first time since the injury nine days ago and was reportedly pain-free. After finishing his session with an opposite-field home run off of batting-practice pitcher Ichiro Suzuki, Kelenic stated that he was feeling 100 percent healthy, and the expectation should now be for Kelenic to return before the end of spring training. He remains a major riser on draft boards, worthy of a pick in the top nine or 10 rounds of drafts.
