4 years agoDespite getting optioned to the minors, Red Sox outfield prospect Jarren Duran made quite the impression this spring. Duran, the Red Sox fourth ranked prospect, slashed a solid .340/.367/.702 with six doubles, one triple, and three home runs. There was much talk about Duran, who used to be regarded as a pure speed guy, adding power at the Red Sox alternative site last summer, and he proved it this spring. With questions surrounding Franchy Cordero's consistency and Hunter Renfore's ability to hit same side pitching, don't be surprised if Duran is called up before the All-Star Break.--Daniel Fox
