4 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward will not take the field during Wednesday’s contest against Detroit and right-hander Michael Fulmer. Heyward is opting not to participate as boycotts have popped up throughout the Majors, but the veteran outfielder reportedly encouraged teammates to participate in the contest. Albert Almora Jr. will enter the lineup and bat ninth. Heyward’s next chance to return to the lineup comes Friday versus the Reds, who have not yet announced a starter for the contest.--Jesse Borek
