Jason Heyward Won't Return This Season
3 years agoChicago Cubs outfielder Jason Heyward (head) won't recover in time to make it back before the final game of the season, according to Jordan Bastian of MLB.com. He was placed on the injured list on September 14 with a concussion after taking a knee to the head during a game against the San Francisco Giants. He wasn't much help to fantasy managers in any league, slashing just .214/.280/.347 with eight home runs and five stolen bases over 104 games. Nick Martini should keep getting reps in the outfield with Heyward sidelined. He should be left on the waiver wire in every league, as he's posted a .185/.233/.222 OPS in 22 games and bats at the bottom of the Cubs order.
