6 years agoWhile we aren’t sure if anyone truly expected anything different out of New York Mets starting pitcher Jason Vargas, we’re here to tell you that he once again did not pitch very well. In a 6-3 loss to the Arizona Diamondbacks on Thursday, Vargas allowed three runs over five innings pitched on five hits and two walks, striking out five and allowing two home runs. It certainly wasn’t Vargas’ worst effort of the season, but not what you’re looking for for fantasy purposes, either. The unspectacular outing did lower his ERA on the season to 7.39, though, so there’s that. He’s obviously not much of a fantasy option in any format.--John Smith
