Jason Vargas May Not Return To Rotation Once Healthy
6 years agoNew York Mets pitcher Jason Vargas (calf) may not be a lock to return to the Mets starting rotation once he returns from the 10-day disabled list, per MLB.com's Anthony DiComo. Manager Mickey Callaway mentioned Corey Oswalt as a possible rotation option and said that all pitchers will need to be re-evaluated as to where they fit in the bigger plan after the All-Star break. Vargas has had a poor season so far, posting an 8.60 ERA and a 1.83 WHIP, so it is not surprising that he may not be given a rotation spot. Regardless of what happens with Vargas, he should not be owned in fantasy leagues at this time.
