7 years agoJon Heyman of FanRag Sports reports that the New York Mets have agreed to terms with free-agent starting pitcher Jason Vargas. Vargas is coming off of his best year in the majors. In 2017, he made his first All-Star team and finished with an 18-11 record and 4.16 ERA for the Royals. Jerry Crasnick of ESPN.com reports that it is a two-year, $16 million deal with a club option for 2020. Vargas faded in the second half and is nothing more than a late-round flier in mixed leagues.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
