Jason Vargas To Make Debut On Saturday
7 years agoWe already knew that New York Mets starting pitcher Jason Vargas (hand) would make his debut as a Metropolitan over the weekend, but now we know the exact day (Saturday). Vargas has been out since near the end of spring training after suffering a fracture in his non-throwing right hand. He was hit on a comebacker to the mound. Vargas isn’t worth an immediate add in just about any league, but we’ve seen fantastic stretches of play from him before. He’ll likely make for a fine streaming candidate in the right matchup here and there. As stated ad nauseam, Vargas is displacing the struggling Matt Harvey in the rotation, as Harvey will try to make things right in the bullpen.
